Tulane and Rutgers strike three-game series

Rutgers announced Thursday that it has agreed to a three-year series with Tulane beginning in 2010.

The Green Wave will play at Rutgers next season and in 2014. Rutgers will head to New Orleans in 2012.

The two teams have met four times before, but the 2010 meeting will be the first time since 1998.

Rutgers owns a 3-1 advantage over Tulane, but the Green Wave won the 1998 meeting 52-24.

The two teams played twice in the '90s and twice in the '70s. Two of Rutgers' three wins were decided by nine points or fewer.
