As spring football winds down across the country -- Saturday's is the biggest day for spring games this year -- several teams have already turned their attention toward expectations in 2009.
• Notre Dame, led by quarterback Jimmy Clausen, is angling to get back to elite status in 2009.
• Miami is already anticipating its season-opening game against Kentucky.
• Houston is replacing its defensive front this year, but coach Kevin Sumlin is not worried about how the replacements will fare in 2009.
• Ball State has a new defensive scheme, but it still has the same old issues of tackling consistently.
• Safety Kenny Estes is looking to use his speed to earn the starting spot for Hawaii.
• Colorado State defensive tackle Ty Whittier added 10-15 pounds this offseason to turn his undersized frame to that of a starter.
