EMU's English hires coordinators

Eastern Michigan coach Ron English announced two major hires last Friday, Ken Karcher as his offensive coordinator and Eric Lewis as defensive coordinator.

Karcher spent this past season as the quarterbacks coach at Toledo and was the head coach at Liberty in 2000-05. Karcher also spent time coaching at North Texas, Pittsburgh and NFL Europe.

Lewis was the defensive backs coach under English at Louisville this season. Prior to that, he served as an assistant with Ball State and Bucknell. Lewis is the son of Michigan State legend and former Lions offensive coordinator Sherm Lewis.
