• TCU will honor the late Sammy Baugh during the Poinsettia Bowl tonight. Ray Buck of the Fort Worth Star Telegram has a nice profile on Baugh, one of the greatest players in TCU history.

• New Eastern Michigan coach Ron English set lofty goals for his new team during his news conference on Monday, including making a bowl game quickly.

• Boise State's motto has been "Finish" all season, and with the final game tonight, that's what the Broncos are looking to do.

• New Mexico coach Mike Locksley has been on the job for a couple weeks and he already has his first recruit.

• Notre Dame and Hawaii started the competition for Wednesday's Sheraton Hawaii Bowl by trying to outduel each other during a banquet for the teams.
