Utah defensive coordinator Gary Andersen, who was recently named the head coach at Utah State, will coach in the Utes Bowl game.
Utah will learn its bowl destination when the BCS standings are released on Sunday.
"After meeting with Gary this afternoon, we are in agreement that he will coach in the bowl game," Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said. "However, given the obligations in his new coaching position, he and I will share the game planning responsibilities."
Whittingham also announced that linebackers coach Kalani Sitake and receivers coach Aaron Roderick will not be joining Andersen at Utah State as was rumored. Both will stay Utah and with Andersen's departure, Sitaki could be in line for a promotion.
"We also received assurance today that both Kalani Sitake and Aaron Roderick are staying here at Utah," Whittingham said. "They are excellent young coaches and this is good news for our program. At this time, they will continue to serve in their current capacities. With the departure of our defensive coordinator and line coach (Andersen), there will obviously be some adjustments in coaching assignments in the near future."
