Boise State does what it's supposed to in impressive fashion

Not much to say after Boise State's win against Louisiana Tech. It's pretty on par with what the Broncos have done against Bulldogs in the past and what most expected them to do at home.

But it's how they won the game that's gives us something to talk about. Boise State needed to put its stamp on this game and it did that with a 38-3 win.

Can't fault Boise State for the score or even the fourth quarter touchdown. The Broncos are fighting a tough battle against some other strong non-BCS teams and need all the style points it can get.

The win sends the WAC a message and sends the poll voters a message as the rest of the games play out this week and through the weekend.

And lest we forget that the BCS rankings come out in two weeks and the Broncos are trying to position themselves since those are what ultimately determine which teams play in the various BCS games at the end of the season.

One would have to think that Boise State's past history -- two undefeated regular seasons since 2004 and a 13-0 season in 2006 -- could play into the voting as the season treks on.

There's no doubt the Broncos will move up the rankings next week, how far will depend on what happens above them during the rest of the week and through the weekend.
