Utah coach Kyle Whittingham told me a few weeks ago that he wanted to get his team back into the BCS mix and Monday the university made schedule strides to do so.
Utah State is out and Notre Dame is in.
The Utes will play the Fighting Irish on Nov. 13, 2010 at Notre Dame, marking the first-ever meeting between the two teams. Utah and Utah State will suspend its series in 2010 and 2011 and resume in 2012 in Logan, Utah.
"Our preference is always to play teams home and away, but when something like this presents itself, we want to take advantage of it," Dr. Chris Hill, Utah director of athletics said. "What a great opportunity this offers for not only our team, but for our fans. We are appreciative that Utah State has agreed to temporarily suspend our annual series so that we could make room in our 2010 schedule for another road game.
