There's been a lot of buzz about Monday's game between Fresno State and Rutgers and the NFL scouts have bought in. Reportedly, 14 NFL scouts will be at Rutgers to watch various players on both teams.

That list includes three scouts from the New York Giants, and one scout from each of the following teams:

  • New York Jets
  • Miami Dolphins
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Obviously, both Fresno State quarterback Tom Brandstater and Rutgers QB Mike Teel will be on display (eight of those teams could use either one this year), but there are several other players who could be considered NFL material.

The Scarlet Knights also will be showcasing:

  • Senior receiver Tiquan Underwood
  • Senior tight end Kevin Brock
  • Senior free safety Courtney Greene
  • Senior defensive tackle Jamaal Westerman
  • Senior cornerback Jason McCourty
  • Junior wide receiver Kenny Britt

Fresno State has just 12 seniors this season and other than Brandstater, tight end Bear Pascoe would be the next best senior with NFL potential. But a few other players scouts might be looking at are:

And they'd be remiss if they didn't check out sophomore running back Ryan Matthews.

I'll be there, too. Just in case anyone was curious.
