Not everyone's a fan of Jimmy Clausen's flowing locks.

In conjunction with ESPN's 25 hours of college football leading up to the first kickoff of the season, we bloggers have been asked to note the 25 things we'd like to see out of our respective conferences and college football. So here goes.

  1. A non-BCS team considered for the national championship: This has been brewing for a while. It would be interesting to see what the BCS would do.
  2. Two undefeated non-BCS teams: One of my favorite mailbag questions, plus it strengthens the quality of the non-BCS.
  3. The blue field: I've heard about it, seen it on TV, but never been there in person. I just want to walk on it.
  4. A non-BCS quarterback as a Heisman finalist: Colt Brennan did it last year. Who's next?
  5. Florida Atlantic beat Texas and Howard Schnellenberger to say in his press conference that Texas really isn't a physically tough team: Because we all know he really did say it.
  6. Tyrell Fenroy rush for 1,000 yards: It would be nice to get a third non-BCS rusher in the record books for this feat.
  7. Temple go to a bowl game and Bill Cosby to do the coin toss: I don't know, I like Jello pudding.
  8. Wyoming coach Joe Glenn keep his job: For all that I say about Wyoming, I think Joe Glenn is a good coach and deserves at least another season.
  9. SMU win six games this year: I'd like to see this program get back to the days when it was good, sans the money stuffed in the shoes.
  10. Austin Collie throw a touchdown pass: Why not? If he's going to be the backup QB, I'd like to see it be a worthwhile move. If he threw one to himself I'd be doubly impressed.
  11. Eugene Jarvis lead all rushers nationally: He's the best running back in the country. Just because he goes to Kent State doesn't make him any less of a great back.
  12. Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe work out their differences: I just get a kick out of this feud and I'd like to see these teams just air out their problems on the field.
  13. ACC blogger Heather Dinich wear her bedazzled ESPN shirt on CFB Live: We received black T-shirts with the ESPN logo jeweled across the front. I think mine's still in the bag.
  14. Utah and BYU play a 10-overtime game: Ten of the last 11 games have been decided by a touchdown or less. If this is for the MWC championship, let's make it as dramatic as possible.
  15. Central Michigan beat Georgia: Who doesn't love total chaos after the second week of the season? And I wouldn't mind seeing Dan LeFevour get serious consideration for the Heisman.
  16. A conference other than the WAC produce an undefeated team: What can I say, I like a little variety.
  17. UTEP's Jose Martinez kick a 70-yard field goal: I've heard it's been done in practice and coach Mike Price said he wouldn't hesitate to let Martinez try it in a game.
  18. Boise State coach Chris Petersen do his celebration dance from the 2006 Fiesta Bowl: Because that was one of the best moments of 2006.
  19. Tom Brandstater appreciated by Fresno State fans: He's in a love-hate relationship with Fresno State fans, but I think if the Bulldogs beat Rutgers, he's owed some love.
  20. What they drink at tailgates in Provo, Utah: Really, I'm just curious. Soda? Iced tea? I've been invited to a couple of tailgates, so if I get out there I plan to find out.
  21. Florida International beat Kansas and win two games this year: There's a little of my Missouri background showing here, but I'd also like to see FIU gain a little confidence this season.
  22. Army bring back the wishbone: I love that the wishbone is coming back. It's kinda like bellbottoms -- never goes out of style.
  23. Notre Dame win one of the first five games of the season: Because it went 0-5 last year and I don't think Notre Dame nation can take more disappointment.
  24. Todd Dodge make North Texas into a contender again: North Texas used to be the class of the Sun Belt and Dodge's wide-open scheme will bring back the pride.
  25. Jimmy Clausen cut his hair: Seriously. The long hair isn't working. Go back to the shaved look.
