Here is the second part of the mailbag. Enjoy.
Tom from Elko, Nevada writes: Is it possible if 2 (non-bcs teams) go undefeated both can get a bcs birth?
Graham Watson: I don't know. I'm not sure, and maybe another reader could shed some light in this, if that has ever happened. I can't remember a BCS year where there were two undefeated non-BCS teams. I'm not sure it's ever happened. But I don't think they'd play in the same bowl. I could be wrong and I know someone will call me out if I am.
Ritchie Jensen writes: Is Jason Boone coming back for his senior season? Nobody has said a word about him. He was a preseason 1st team all mountain west offensive linemen last year but was injured before the season even started. Just curious.
Graham Watson: I was told that Utah lineman Jason Boone exhausted his eligibility. He did get a free agent tryout with New Orleans, but I don't think he stuck in the league.
Matt writes: Graham what do you think about ULM's amazing 2009 recruiting class? It's barely August and the Warhawks already have 7 verbal commitments, all of which are nationally ranked by Scout's SuperPrep.com The win over Alabama has proven to do much more than just put ULM on the college football map. What do you think? Here is a direct link to ULM's 2009 commits so far.
Graham Watson: I don't deal in recruiting a whole lot, but I can tell you that in speaking with some people in that area that there's a lot of hope for the future of the program. The win over Alabama did increase the team's exposure and that will continue if they can make a strong showing against Auburn and Arkansas. I really believe the Warhawks can beat the Razorbacks.
Ron in Albuquerque: Are you going to visit UNM to check out the Lobos in the preseason? UNM is perennially picked in the middle of the pack and perennial finishes above expectations. It would be worth your time to check out Rocky Long and his troops!
Graham Watson: I won't see New Mexico during fall camp, but there's a good chance that I'll see the Lobos during the season. As I said in an earlier answer, I think New Mexico can be good. A bowl game is definitely a possibility and I wouldn't count them out for one of the top three spots in the MWC.
Kenny from Oakland: How do you feel about East Carolina's chances to shock the world and go 10-2 this season?
Graham Watson: I really like East Carolina, so much so that I'll be attending their season opener against Virginia Tech. I see the Pirates going 2-2 in their non-conference and the rest of the schedule looks winnable. Houston is an unknown with a new coaching staff and new offense, but I think UCF will be down and so will Southern Miss as it adjusts to its coaching staff.
Bobby from Washington DC writes: Any word on Lefevour being a draft prospect? His numbers are great, although he has not beat a BCS team. But him in front of a Pro O-line and he is a beast. What do you think about that?
Graham Watson: LeFevour has the qualities to be a pro prospect, I'm just not sure it's at quarterback. His speed and elusiveness might make him a receiver prospect especially at 6-foot-3. I realy think he could do either, which makes him a commodity. But he has tremendous upside at quarterback and two more seasons to really refine his skills in the backfield.
