Kurt Warner improved his record against the 49ers to 8-1 as a starter. He has thrown 20 touchdown passes with 10 interceptions in those games.
The way Warner avoided turnovers was the difference in the game Sunday, in my view. The Cardinals have to be able to trust him that way.
The 49ers lacked sufficient offensive firepower to make Arizona play from behind in this game. That could remain the case over the next two weeks as Miami visits the Cardinals before Arizona heads to Washington in Week 3. The schedule gets tougher from there: at Jets, vs. Bills, vs. Cowboys and at Carolina.
