RENTON, Wash. -- Running back Maurice Morris, defensive end Lawrence Jackson and tight end John Carlson will open the season as starters for Seattle, coach Mike Holmgren said during his recently completed noon news conference.
That doesn't necessarily mean Morris will get most of the snaps Sunday at Buffalo, or for the season. Julius Jones will also see significant carries at running back. Jones might even start the second game, Holmgren said. That's how the Seahawks will approach the position in their first season without Shaun Alexander since 1999.
Jackson starts at right defensive end. Darryl Tapp will also play extensively. Carlson starts at tight end. Jeb Putzier and Will Heller will also get reps at tight end.
