Medlock released as Rams trim to 75

The Rams waived running back Lavarus Giles, kicker Justin Medlock and receiver Shaine Smith to help comply with the 75-man roster deadline. The team also placed fourth-round rookie cornerback Justin King on injured reserve.

Steven Jackson remains exempt until the team moves him onto the active roster. Medlock had asked for his release or trade after the team signed Josh Brown in free agency. Teams needing a kicker now have another option.
