The NFL has suspended backup Rams defensive tackle Claude Wroten for the 2008 season after his latest violation of the league's substance-abuse policy. From the NFL:

Claude Wroten of the St. Louis Rams has been suspended without pay for a minimum of one year for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy. Wroten is eligible to be reinstated no sooner than May 30, 2009.
The league suspended Wroten for the first four games last season. The Rams made Wroten a third-round pick in 2006, but he has not started a game for the team. The organization has sought to improve its depth on the defensive line, adding first-round defensive linemen in each of the last two seasons.
