Funny moment in the press box

IRVING, Texas -- Following punter Mat McBriar's 54-yard punt a few minutes ago, the in-house PA announcer didn't realize his mic was hot.

"Nice!!!" he shouted into the mic, prompting laughter throughout the press box.

In other news, it's really hot on the field. Officially, it was 85 degrees at kickoff. On the side of the field where the sun's shining, it has to be close to 100. I walked over to check the thermometer, but someone had stolen the dial.

Redskins coaches spent a lot of time before the game sitting directly in front of huge fans. It's something we should keep an eye on. You'll see a couple of players cramp up at some point. It will start to cool down at about 6 p.m. ET.

The Cowboys already have a couple of sacks. I'm not sure why Jason Campbell keeps stepping up in the pocket. He's actually helping the Cowboys by doing that.

He's also holding the ball too long. If he learned anything from watching Todd Collins late last season, it was to dump the ball off instead of constantly trying to make plays downfield. So far, he's struggling with that today. Cowboys start this drive with excellent field position.
