Century's Josh Bordner just received some great news. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound rising senior received his first official offer around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Bordner was offered by Boston College as a quarterback.
"Originally I went to their camp and he [assistant coach Ryan Day] said I was their No. 1 guy,” Bordner said. "He said that they had a couple quarterbacks come up to their next camp, but I was they guy they want. They want me to come back up there and see more of the school and the city."
Bordner, who made the move to quarterback before last season, threw for a Carroll County best 2,212 yards. Bordner threw for 18 touchdowns and also made 78 tackles from his linebacker position on defense.
The Small School First Team All-State quarterback led Century a Class 2A tate semifinal berth and a 12-1 record.
"I'm really excited because that's where I really wanted to go to begin with,” Bordner said minutes after talking to Day.

Century's new quarterback is a familar face in a new place. Josh Bordner played on the varsity squad last season as a wide receiver and linebacker, but after a summer of camps and training he takes over under center.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Bordner has helped lead Century to a 3-0 record this season - one year after the team finished 4-6 in the MVAL Blue Ridge Division.
Bordner threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns in Century's 53-13 victory over Frederick Friday night.
"I knew Josh had a good arm and good field vision," Century head coach Tony Shermeyer said. "He really developed over the summer."
Bordner attended several quarterback camps over the summer and the improvement has shown.
For the season Bordner has thrown for 563 yards and seven touchdowns on offense, leading the Knights to victories over South Hagerstown, Walkersville and Frederick.
As a starter at outside linebacker, Bordner leads the team in tackles with 26.
