It's considered tabu to talk about potential playoff matchups with the regular season still in action, but I cannot not help myself from thinking about a potential Arundel vs. Wise clash.

Arundel remains No. 1 in the MDVarsity.com Class 4A Top 10 with the most potent offense in the state. The Wildcats ran up 62 points on Meade this week to push its season total to 423 points [47.0 points per game average]. No. 2 Wise, on the other hand, recorded its eighth straight shutout, a new MPSSAA record, and has allowed only seven points all year.

Of course, 4A is not the only class with potential intereting state playoff match-ups. How about a Fort Hill-Dunbar 1A rematch? What if River Hill returns to the final with a chance at a 42nd stright win? Can Linganore close out an era with a title [remember, Oakdale -- carved from the Linganore district -- opens next year]. Oh, the possibilities!
