Plant High School

Plant High School is the No. 2 ranked team on the ESPNRISE.com FAB 50 National Volleyball Ranking.  The school embodies both high academic and athletic standards.  With the enrollement classified as overcrowded, the only way to enroll at the school is to move to the neighborhood. 

The school is named in honor of railroad and hotel tycoon Henry B. Plant and opened in 1926 on South Himes Avenue in Tampa, Fla.   The school serves ninth through twelfth grade students in the heart of Palma Ceia now considered, South Tampa, Florida, which is part of Hillsborough County.  


The school has a notable academic reputation, and is consistently ranked among the best high schools in the nation.  Plant  and is a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and has been selected to the 100 Best High Schools in America (as designated by Newsweek) for four years running.  Plant High also offers free Advanced Placement Program testing as early as freshman year.
