Although many of the East Coast states do not begin fall sports play until after Labor Day, the rest of the country has started, and we have the first update to the state-by-state girls soccer rankings. Each week, we will release the state-by-state rankings on Monday followed by the ESPN RISE FAB 50 rankings Tuesday.

The big winner this week was Noblesville, taking over No. 1 in Indiana. Noblesville and Zionsville are undefeated and Zionsville posted an early win over Carmel, which defeated Bishop Dwenger, which defeated Indianapolis Cathedral. At this point, Noblesville has earned the right to No. 1 - but plenty of tests to that ranking are yet to come.

St. Ursula (Ohio) helped secure that state's place among the nation's elite with a comfortable win over Kentucky No. 2 Notre Dame Academy (Ky.).
