The Balboa Bay Volleyball Club looks to dominate the junior boys' volleyball scene once again at the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships (JOVC). In 2008, the club captured three gold medals at the JOVC in the 15 Open, 16 Open and 18 Open Divisions. The club had a team in every Open Division final except for the 14 Open, where it tied for third.

Balboa Bay displayed dominance at the Boys Classic close to that of its performance at the 2008 JOVC, with two first place teams in the 18 Open and 16 Open Divisions. The Boys Classic, hosted by the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) this past weekend, serves as a warm-up event for the JOVC, which utilizes the same format. Other clubs from around the country attended the event as their culminating, end of the year tournament.
The 18 Quiksilver team went undefeated en route to a first place finish. It ended with a 24-3 game record and a 12-0 match record. The squad played twelve matches in four days and looked as fresh in its twelfth match as it did in its first.
