Welcome to High School Soccer on ESPN

July 8, 2008 7:24 AM

After being hosted for more than four years by Rivals.com, the StudentSportsSoccer.com Web site is now part of ESPN.

This Blog format is only temporary.

It is never easy to switch in the Internet world, but going to the Worldwide Leader in Sports is an opportunity that excites the people behind all of the sites in the Student Sports Inc. family. These sites on ESPN are going to be off the charts for the athletes, coaches, parents, and fans throughout the country.

We will continue to cover the key summer club events with an eye toward the FAB 50 preseason soccer rankings, which will be released in early August. In addition, our coverage of everything high school soccer-related, from player rankings, team rankings, records, recruiting and features will be enhanced in the coming months.

We need to credit four people who contributed mightily to this site becoming part of ESPN who have passed away in recent years. This would be Student Sports co-founder Nelson Tennis, former Student Sports marketing director Kim Blankinship, former team sales manager and longtime supporter Jerry Keane and Larry Bark, father of president and co-founder Andy Bark. Of course, the original Student Sports Soccer Web site would not have been possible without the work of Barry Redmond, who passed away in 2001.

We invite you to keep coming back to this site every day to see exclusive, original content that is not available anywhere else.

Sincerely,

Sheldon Shealer
High School Soccer Editor, ESPN Rise

FAB 50, Sheldon Shealer
