Expect rookie deals to speed up

Expect the rate of draft pick signings to increase starting this week. After an unusually fast signing pace in May and June, the pace often increases the week after July 4.

In the AFC West, the next big name to sign in the division could be San Diego first-round pick Antoine Cason. Talks between the Chargers and Cason's agent have been fluid and both sides appear motivated to get a deal finalized.

Denver and the agents of first-round pick Ryan Clady have talked in person in Atlanta and both sides do not expect any major obstacles in signing the deal. The highest draft choice in the division, tailback Darren McFadden -- who went No. 4 overall to the Raiders -- signed last month.
