Indianapolis' Marvin Harrison (knee) isn't the only big-name AFC South receiver who won't be healthy at the start of training camp next week.

ESPN's John Clayton reported that Jacksonville's Jerry Porter won't be on the field at the start of camp because of a hamstring injury that hasn't healed, and the Jaguars followed up with this news release:

Jaguars wide receiver Jerry Porter underwent surgery on Thursday for repair of a hamstring tendon that was not healing. The surgery was successful and he is expected to be out approximately six to eight weeks and the team is hopeful that he will return for the regular season opener on Sept. 9. The 30-year-old Porter signed with the team as an unrestricted free agent this year following eight seasons with the Oakland Raiders. He has 284 career receptions and has started 63 of 104 career games played.

Colts QB Peyton Manning, also out at the start of camp following recent knee surgery, has a longstanding rapport with Harrison. But David Garrard could probably use every practice with newcomer Porter that he can get, and Porter's absence in camp and the preseason will slow the development of their relationship.
