While Kansas City has the largest rookie-pool allotment, teams from the NFC South and AFC East can expect to set aside the most combined cap space for their rookies.

Rookie-pool allotments provide general limits on how much 2008 cap space teams can allocate toward signing drafted and undrafted rookies. Teams with higher picks wind up receiving larger allotments.

AFC South teams held a league-low 10 choices among the top 100 overall picks. NFC South teams had 15 picks among the top 100, most in the league. The AFC's overall allotment received a boost from an unlikely source when the 16-0 Patriots wound up selecting in the top 10.

AFC North teams held a league-low two picks among the top 50 overall choices. NFC South and NFC North teams held eight such picks.

NFC North teams held a league-high 35 choices in the draft, but none was among the top 10. Nine of the NFC North's choices were among the bottom 50 overall choices. That was a league high.
