Free agent offensive lineman Barry Sims continues to weigh potential options with the Patriots, Rams, 49ers and Ravens, according to his agent. Ken Vierra, speaking to the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat, outlined the following criteria as important to Sims: A chance to earn a starting job, a chance to play in the postseason, best overall organization, best offensive line coach, best offensive coordinator, and best monetary offer.

That last one sometimes trumps all the others, but let's assume for the sake of discussion that any offers would be comparable. The Patriots would offer the best shot at the postseason, the best organization and arguably the best coaches. Sims' chances at starting could depend upon Nick Kaczur's future with the team, and where Oliver Ross fits. But it's tough to say right now how those situations might shake out.
