Marcus McNeil broke into a big smile when asked his feelings about NFL sack leader Jared Allen leaving the AFC West as a result of his trade last month from Kansas City to Minnesota.
"I was just crushed that he left," the Chargers' standout third-year left tackle said. "Just crushed. I'll really miss him."
McNeil then turned serious and said he thought Allen was one of the better players in the AFC West and he never thought the Chiefs would part with him. Allen led the NFL with 15.5 sacks last season.
"The guy is a dominant player," McNeil said. "Minnesota now has the best defensive line in the NFL with Allen and the two Williams' (tackles Kevin and Pat) in the middle. Who do you double team?"
Then McNeil smiled and said he's glad it's not his problem.
