Bentley receives calls

Teams are showing interest in new free-agent center LeCharles Bentley.

One of his agents, Jonathan Feinsod, said today he has received phone calls from eight teams interested in Bentley, who was cut by Cleveland on Wednesday at his request after two injury-filled years with the Browns. Bentley never played for Cleveland.

Feinsod would not disclose the teams that have expressed interest. He characterized the interest as preliminary.

"There is interest and a lot of it is fact checking," Feinsod said. "We are intrigued by several situations and we'll see where this thing takes us."

Feinsod said he has no timetable for getting his client a new job and that he will continue to monitor interest in the coming days.
