Is it a coincidence that the Raiders signed tailback Darren McFadden to an early June blockbuster contract this week?
The six-year, $60 million deal was struck Thursday night, the day Oakland ended its three-day, five-practice minicamp. McFadden, the No. 4 overall pick from Arkansas, was a star of the camp.
He showed blazing speed and nice versatility. The Raiders had him line up as a receiver on some plays. McFadden is going to be a headache for teams to scheme against. Thursday night, the Raiders clearly had seen enough and officially made McFadden part of the team.
