No one is more thrilled that the Raiders and Darren McFadden are starting to talk about a contract extension than McFadden himself.
After practicing with the full Raiders squad for the first time Tuesday in a mandatory minicamp, McFadden said he has no intentions of staying away from his new teammates. McFadden will have no worries if his agent, Ian Greengross, who has never had a client miss a training camp practice because of a holdout, and the Raiders' brass can come to an accord. They are talking this week preliminarily about a deal.
"I'm excited that they are talking," McFadden said. "I told my agent to get it done. It may be early June, but I think it's great that they are talking. I don't want to miss a minute of camp."
McFadden vowed to be at camp on time during draft weekend after the Raiders took the Arkansas running back with the No. 4 overall pick. That was music to the ears for Raiders fans who had to deal with No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell's holdout until September last year.
