Line dances at Seattle minicamp

Observers had a tough time getting a read on the Seahawks at their minicamp practice today. The team is working without much of its starting offensive line, and the depth took another hit when Floyd Womack went to the sideline with a sore knee today.

Womack has cut significant weight in an effort to finally avoid injuries. The Seahawks have plugged him in at left tackle while Walter Jones recovers from shoulder surgery. But with practice winding down, Womack limped off the field, leaving second-year pro Kyle Williams to man the position. Center Chris Spencer and right guard Rob Sims were already sidelined by injuries.

Womack wore a wrap on his knee after practice. He was walking without crutches. But given his long history of injuries, this wasn't what the Seahawks wanted to see on the first day of June camp. They could use him as insurance at every line position but center.

I caught up with Julius Jones after practice. He's fired up about getting a chance to prove himself in another system. Much more from him in an upcoming column.
