Let's keep in mind that reports are still sketchy about an incident involving Indianapolis Colts receiver Marvin Harrison.
But this is not the kind of publicity the Colts want as they prepare to open their new stadium. Harrison is second only to quarterback Peyton Manning in terms of popularity in Indianapolis and his reputation had been spotless. Who knows where this story will go? But Colts coach Tony Dungy has always followed a hard-line approach on guys who get in trouble off the field.
One of Dungy's first moves after taking over the Bucs in 1996 was to cut receiver Lamar Thomas, who was going through some legal issues. Again, we don't know much about Harrison's incident and where it's going and the future Hall of Famer isn't as expendable as Thomas was, but Dungy has always been pretty serious about this kind of thing.
