Anquan Boldin is unhappy about his contract, but the Cardinals receiver proved his professionalism by helping younger receivers during the team's postdraft camp earlier this month. That's why the Cardinals aren't particularly concerned about Boldin skipping voluntary practices this week. They know he'll be there when it matters.
Boldin is honoring his contract by doing what the contract requires of him. The Cardinals have said they'll take care of him with a new deal -- eventually. Skipping voluntary practices isn't a big deal for a player who has demonstrated professionalism and dependability. It beats having him show up and suffer the kind of injury that felled Daven Holly at Browns camp.
The Cardinals need Boldin at training camp and during the regular season. His track record and public comments suggest he'll be there.
