The Broncos are getting good news regarding star wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Denver coach Mike Shanahan said Monday Marshall is ahead of schedule and may start trying to catch passes next month.
The most important element is Denver expects him ready for a July minicamp and for the start of training camp at the end of the month. Last month, Shanahan was far less confident about Marshall's return date. Marshall severely cut his right forearm in March after he fell through a glass entertainment center while wrestling with family members.
There was concern that the nerve damage could affect his play this season. Yet, now it appears he is ahead of schedule. This is major news for Denver. Marshall, who became the third NFL player to catch 100 passes in his second season, is on the brink of becoming one of the league's best offensive players.
