Personal observation: Baltimore Ravens rookie quarterback Joe Flacco outperformed both Kyle Boller and Troy Smith during last week's three-day veteran minicamp.
That was the view from this end as Hashmarks spent last weekend with rookie head coach John Harbaugh, and linebacker Ray Lewis and Co. at their training facility in Owings Mills, Md.
But it appears Boller and Smith soon will get an added boost in this three-way quarterback battle as a collegiate rule will keep Flacco out of this month's passing camp, according to a report by the Baltimore Sun.
The rule limits Flacco to just one camp while school remains in session, which will give Boller and Smith more individual time to learn the new offense that is being installed by assistant coach Cam Cameron. Flacco will rejoin the team for passing camps in June.
