Time for two of life's great joys all at once. Sitting in an airport waiting for a flight they've already announced will be delayed 90 minutes (translation: they'll delay it at least twice more or just cancel it).
Oh, well, onto the other fun. Yep, talking about our NFL Power Rankings -- in May. All our NFL writers weighed in and I think the rankings turned out pretty well. But there were a few points where I differed from the group. I did not vote for the Patriots at No. 1, mainly because I wanted to do something truly bold. So I voted for the Colts in the top spot. If I recall correctly, I put the Patriots at No. 3.
I'm also going to take issue with some of my colleagues, who are responsible for the Super Bowl champions being No. 6. I voted them No. 2 and almost went with them at No. 1. Do I think the Giants are the most talented team? No, but they're still the champions and, in May, that means something.
A trio of other teams who I disagreed with the pack on are from the NFC South. I had the Saints in the top 10 and rated the Bucs and Panthers a couple of spots higher than my colleagues, who put them firmly in the middle of the pack.
Got to run, the gate agent is starting to give an update on the delay.
