-Things got testy with the second day of practice moving indoors. Despite the drills being non-contact, there was a lot of grabbing and shoving. On one play, offensive tackle Oniel Cousins and defensive lineman Amon Gordon dragged each other to the ground. Players from the offense and defense ran to the fight in what appeared to be a bench-clearing brawl. But most of the guys were either joking on the outskirts or working to separate the two combatants.

"Guys are competing, tempers flare a little bit,'' Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said today. "I think we have guys who take care of each other. Even in the brawl, guys were taking care of each other and we can get back to practice. The thing that they understand is that we're not going to slow down practice, and we're not going to miss any reps.''

-Defensive backs Corey Ivy and Frank Walker also got into a brief skirmish towards the end of practice but were quickly separated by teammates.

-The overall tempo at Ravens camp is high-energy and fast. Units are getting in and out of drills quickly with little down time, which is not the norm for most veteran-laden teams. It's apparent Harbaugh and his staff are setting the tone early.

-Former Florida State quarterback Xavier Lee is getting a look at tight end. At the very least, Lee is the fourth quarterback on Baltimore's roster behind Kyle Boller, Troy Smith and Joe Flacco. So Lee has a better chance trying to make the team at another position.

-Rookie second-round pick and backup running back Ray Rice sees starter Willis McGahee as a role model.

"It's like a dream come true to have a guy like that in front of you,'' Rice said. "I'm definitely learning from him and watching the things that he does, from his footwork to how he carries himself.''
