Bronco wants to make a quiet statement

Don't expect to hear a lot from Ryan Harris this summer while he tries to crack the Denver Broncos' starting offensive line. Harris indicated this week that he is not planning to conduct many interviews during training camp because he'll be focused on making the starting lineup and not talking about it.

"There's nothing to say," Harris said. "I want go out and go to work."

When Matt Lepsis surprisingly retired the day after the 2007 season, it was expected that Harris, Denver's third-round pick out of Notre Dame in the '07 draft, would be the new left tackle. However, that changed when Denver took Boise State left tackle Ryan Clady with the No. 12 in this year's draft.

Now, Harris will likely get a chance to beat out incumbent Erik Pears at right tackle. The only thing keeping Harris from the starting lineup is experience. He played offense for one play last year but the team thought he practiced well. He finished the season on special teams. Watch for Harris to make a push for a starting spot. Just don't expect to hear him talk about it much.
