Patriots among those with September byes

The Giants, Lions, Seahawks, Patriots and Colts get bye weeks in Week 4 (Sept. 28), earlier than coaches tend to like them. In theory, the early bye would seem to help a rebuilding team regroup. Perhaps that will work well for the Lions. The Patriots are an older team. A later bye week might have served them better.

Update: Miami also has a Sept. 28 bye. I missed this earlier because the league did not list Miami with a Sept. 28 bye in the original online version of its schedule.
