Pacman fatigue sets in

For those of you still interested in the Pacman Jones saga, let me offer a "sincere" apology. There was a time when I spoke to Pacman's Atlanta-based agent, Manny Arora, on a daily basis.

In recent days, though, my interest in the Pacman trade has waned, which is to say I don't give a flying rip if this thing ever happens. But since some of you guys are still emotionally invested in this deal, let me tell you that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has raised his offer, according to my former colleagues at The Dallas Morning News.

What does that mean exactly? Well, a few minutes ago a source at Valley Ranch told me that Jones is finally willing to throw in a 2009 draft pick, although it's not the fourth-rounder that the Titans were asking for. Now that Jerry is through bidding against himself, it's time for the Titans and Cowboys to consummate this trade. Pacman to the Cowboys will be the most anti-climactic announcement this offseason.

And just for you guys, I'm going to place a call to Arora in a few minutes. He was planning to apply for Pacman's reinstatement at some point today. Commissioner Roger Goodell is swinging through Dallas tomorrow to visit with Hashmarks, so we'll see if he has anything to add.
