Patriots v. Season-ticket holder

April 8, 2008 11:00 AM

Since Contracts was the one class in law school I excelled in, this story about the Patriots suing a past club-ticket holder for the $75,000 he still owes on a 10-year package was pretty interesting.

A lower court ruled that the Patriots didn't prove they were financially damaged to the tune of $75,000. Now, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court will deliver a ruling.

It's obvious that the fan in question entered into a contract that had a figure attached to it. The Patriots have not been fully compensated for the contract, and are well within their rights to go after the fan.

I think the lower courts ruling will be overturned by the high court in this case. OK, that's enough legal talk for today.
