Darren McFadden just met the media in Oakland and with a large part of the audience Raiders employees, the 20-year-old instantly became part of the fabric of the building.

Twice, the No. 4 pick from Arkansas refereed to his new home as "Raider Nation." That'll go over big in Oakland, er, Raider Nation. For a player known for his fumbling in college, he made it through his first act as a Raider without incident.

Interestingly, McFadden said Saturday he started believing he would be a Raider on that morning before he even arrived at the NFL draft. He said he received a call from Raiders coach Lane Kiffin who told him he'd be the pick at No. 4 if he was still on the board.
