Health permitting, the Rams have their starting tackles in Orlando Pace and Alex Barron. They picked up insurance early in the third round when they drafted Toledo offensive lineman John Greco.

"We're going to line him up at right tackle, knowing that he gives us versatility. He can play guard, he can play both sides of the ball. He is extremely smart, extremely tough." -- Rams vice president Billy Devaney, speaking to reporters in St. Louis

The Patriots and other team have done better than the Rams at finding future starting offensive linemen later in the draft. The Rams are looking to succeed in that area. Line depth became a critical issue last season.

Barron hasn't been exceptional on the right side. In fairness to him, injuries and overall instability on the rest of the line have made his job tougher. Barron has also been forced to play left tackle when Pace was injured, hurting his development on the right side. But in terms of some basic aspects of the game, notably penalties, Barron has struggled.
