Live from the ESPN set

I just spent some time on the ESPN main stage with award-winning anchor Trey Wingo, who is hosting Day 2 for the first time. I'm told he's doing an excellent job, although his fascination with Baylor cornerback Alton Widemon is a bit troubling.

During breaks, three women race onto the set and apply makeup to Mel Kiper Jr. and Chris Mortensen, who appear to be melting. During the last break, Wingo shot-gunned a turkey and swiss sandwich in 27 seconds.

Jets fans in the first balcony are heckling Mort because he constantly requires hairspray. When the show goes to highlights, a young woman hands notes out to the analysts.

I'm not sure how much draft research Trey has done, but he's one of the most underrated interviewers in the business. Sic 'em.
