We're running a bit late this morning. This would never happen on Commissioner Goodell's watch. I'm not sure if he's dropping by Radio City Music Hall today. Behind us, Trey Wingo is making his debut as the Day 2 anchor. He's joined by Cris Carter.

Miami has traded the first pick of the third round to Detroit for the Lions' third-round pick and a pick in sixth round. The Lions took Kevin Smith from Central Florida with the No. 64 overall pick. Smith was the leading rusher in the nation last season. Scouts isolated the games against teams like Texas to see how Smith performed. He still put up nice numbers.

The Rams just took offensive tackle John Greco from Toledo. I don't think he's an immediate starter, but he's one of those maulers who should eventually move into the starting lineup.

I just talked to someone at the Cowboys headquarters (of course) and they said the club was "out of the receiver business" today. Bill Parcells just went after defensive end Kendall Langford from Hampton. Parcells has had some success with kids from smaller schools in the past, and Langford has a ton of upside. The Panthers just took cornerback Charles Godfrey from Iowa. I know the Cowboys were really hoping Godfrey would fall to them, but they didn't have not enough interest to trade up and grab him.

NFL draft, Cris Carter, Roger Goodell
