Classic overtrading

By the way, the Steelers just lucked into another good player at No. 53 with wide receiver Limas Sweed from Texas. The Steelers had Rashard Mendenhall fall to them at No. 23 in the first round.

But in overtrading news, Tampa Bay just traded its 52nd overall pick to the Jags for their 58th pick, a fifth-rounder and a seventh-round pick in 2009. When you're securing picks in the seventh round of next year's draft, you've completely gone overboard.

Some teams such as the Raiders can't stand to trade down. Other teams such as the Eagles, Cowboys and Ravens love trading down. The Ravens just took Rutgers running back Ray Rice with the 55th overall pick. I knew that Ozzie Newsome really liked Rice. And no one watched Rice play as much as the Ravens. This sounds like an Eric DeCosta pick to me. Ray Rice should be a nice complement to Willis McGahee.

NFL draft, Limas Sweed, Ozzie Newsome, Willis McGahee
