The disclosure that the Broncos may not have to give up anything for newly acquired defensive tackle DeWayne Robertson is interesting.

The Broncos got a steal if Robertson doesn't play 65 percent of the time. The facts that Denver uses a rotation at the position and that Robertson's knee likely won't allow him to play more than 65 percent means the Broncos likely won't give anything up for Robertson.

Still, you have to understand the Jets' plight. They likely were going to end up cutting Robertson in June. At least, there is a chance for the Jets to get compensation. If Robertson does play more than 65 percent, this will be a good deal for both teams. Because it means he's completely healthy and productive. Thus, it will be worth the cost of a third rounder for Denver and it will give the Jets a valuable pick.
