The biggest ongoing trade talk in the league was not moved along by one of the principals in the proposed deal Wednesday.
Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, speaking today at the NFL meeting in Palm Beach, Fla., did nothing to create a buzz that Adam "Pacman" Jones could be on his way out of Tennessee and on his way to Dallas. The two teams have been long discussing a deal and are trying to hash out the compensation package the Titans would receive for the cornerback/returner, who is currently serving an indefinite NFL suspension.
Asked how he'd deal with coaching Jones, Phillips was not interested in playing the "what if" game.
"We'll cross that when we come to it," Phillips said. "It's been discussed ... but right now there's nothing to talk about."
Except, of course, that the Cowboys are trying to trade for one of the most vilified athletes of our time. That's all.
