The Kansas City Chiefs had their pre-draft press conference Friday and the Chiefs' honchos played the typical pre-draft cat-and-mouse game.

But a few things did stick out.

The most interesting fact was that coach Herman Edwards didn't exactly cool of the speculation that Chiefs are interested in Boston College quarterback. There is a growing thought around the league that the Chiefs would love to get Ryan, widely considered the lone franchise-type quarterback in the draft.

Yet, Kansas City, which has scouted Ryan extensively, would have to hope Atlanta bypasses Ryan at No. 3 to have a chance to grab him. Of course, if the Chiefs finalize a trade for Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen _ who was visiting Minnesota with his agent on Friday _ perhaps the Chiefs would have the resources to trade up past Atlanta if they make the deal with the Vikings.
