The following is a look at the top five nondivision games that will be played in AFC West stadiums this season.
1. New England at San Diego, Oct. 12
This is a rematch of the AFC Championship Game in which the Patriots dispatched the Chargers. Even though this prime-time game is fairly early in the season, it could go a long way in proving which team is the AFC's best.
2. Indianapolis at San Diego, Nov. 23
In another prime-timer, this could be a great pre-Thanksgiving Day treat. The Colts and the Chargers should be at the top of their respective divisions, and this game will likely have big-time playoff positioning implications.
3. New England at Oakland, Dec. 14
This game likely will not have playoff meaning for Oakland, but Randy Moss' return to the Black Hole ought to be hilarious. Raider Nation has its face painted for this one already. Rest assured, Moss will be ready, too.
4. Jacksonville at Denver, Oct. 12
The Jaguars handled the Broncos in Denver in Week 3 last year and remain the better team. If the Broncos, who play at New England the following week, want to stay in the race, they'll have to beat this quality AFC opponent.
5. Tennessee at Kansas City, Oct. 19
There may not be a whole lot of excitement at Arrowhead Stadium in 2008, but Vince Young coming to town is always an event. The Chiefs have a solid front seven and will make Young work for everything he gets.
