Silver and Quack

If you're into this sort of thing, John "The Professor" Clayton does a really nice job of attempting to explain the Oakland Raiders' offseason moves. In some circles (like here), the front office is taking a beating for all the money and draft picks that are being thrown around.

At this point, I would like to take a moment to let you know that not everyone in upper management has lost their minds. Unfortunately, the people with some common sense have been asked not to speak to or make eye contact with Al Davis.

I just received a text message from a source familiar with the DeAngelo Hall contract who described the guaranteed portion of the contract as "utterly ridiculous."

I'll see if I can come up with a firm number at some point this evening. When all is said and done, the Raiders might sit out rounds 2-7 of the NFL draft entirely. Oh, one more thing: Mr. Davis has fallen hard for Darren McFadden in recent weeks. I'll keep you posted on that front.

Al Davis, DeAngelo Hall, Darren McFadden
